VibroFON is a three-year research project funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (H.F.R.I.), exploring inclusive vibrotactile monitoring technologies for deaf and hard-of-hearing performers. Developed at the Laboratory of Music Acoustics and Technology (LabMAT) of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. VibroFON investigates music as a multisensory, embodied experience by examining tactile and bone-conducted sound pathways in live performance settings. The project designs and evaluates a portable vibrotactile system that enables real-time musical interaction for deaf and hard-of-hearing artists, redefining listening beyond conventional auditory frameworks.
